When Pauline Shone came to faith, the door closed on her career as an art designer and sculptor. (See some samples of her art work below.) However, after attending Bible College, another door opened to live and work in Israel. Pauline also began a writing ministry and on returning to England produced books for children, teens, and adults. Latterly she has worked as a volunteer with Bridges for Peace Jerusalem and Succat Hallel Prayer and Worship Center in Jerusalem. Pauline has a son and a daughter, as well as four grandchildren.
Pauline had many experiences while living in Israel. One was a wild ride on a camel:

Pauline writes about these photos: After about a 3/4 hour trip on the camels, our mission team returned to the camel's compound. My camel spotted its lunch, way over on the far side of the compound, and ran (with me on its back) to eat it. The rest of the team had dismounted and were gasping in astonishment to see me speeding away on a camel!! Well, it was like being aboard a ship in a storm, but I stayed on!

After feeding, the camel was led back by one of the guides. Then it kindly posed while I took this photo.
