SHAVUOT (pronounced Shah-voo-oht) is one of the Moadim, one of the Appointed Times set by the Lord as “a statute forever.” It is the day in late Spring that God commanded people to bring their wheat harvest first fruit offerings. He also commanded them to bring two loaves of bread baked of new fine wheat with leaven to wave before the Lord.
